Will CBD make me high?

It’s that one thing that holds back a large percentage of people from experiencing the multi-benefit powerhouse ingredient, CBD. They remember their first unsavory experience with edibles when asked to apply a relaxing, hemp-derived oil all over their body. I’m sure you’re thinking, “Relaxing? I’ve heard that before…”. Fear not, and let science do the work for you. So, does CBD actually get you high?
Not a chance!

CBD is 100% non-psychoactive, meaning that it doesn’t alter your mind or mental process in any way. In other words, CBD does not get you high or stoned. CBD also does not cause any mental slowness or groggy feeling.
You’re probably wondering how this is possible if CBD comes from the cannabis plant. The reason is, most of us associate cannabis with the marijuana plant bred for high THC content—the specific cannabinoid that gets you high. However, cannabis contains multiple cannabinoids, and the vast majority of these, such as CBD, do not make you high.

Some cannabis plants are bred specifically for high CBD content-these plants are known as ‘hemp’, and they contain only trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%, to be exact). The combination of high-CBD with very low amounts of THC is what makes the products extracted from hemp plants non-psychoactive.
So, just to review: the cannabis plant contains many, many cannabinoids. However, only THC provides the much anticipated high associated with cannabis. CBD, the second most prevalent cannabinoid, is non-psychoactive and doesn’t induce any ‘high’ at all. Shop our CBD collection here
